Classic Carpet Cleaner, an alternative application

Classic Carpet Cleaner is a relatively old product of ours. We tried and tested a newer, less traditional method of applying this product and were incredibly pleased with the results we got from using our Foam Blaster Mini to apply it.

First things first, here are the products we used: Classic Carpet Cleaner, a Foam Blaster Mini, an Upholstery Brush and two Multi-Purpose Microfibre Cloths. And, of course, the Passat we experimented on.

If you’d like to try this method of application, we suggest hoovering all fabrics before diluting your Classic Carpet Cleaner in the Foam Blaster Mini. We used a dilution ratio of 1:20.

Pump the Foam Blaster Mini to build pressure than simply spray over the areas you want to clean. As you can see in the photo below, the product sits thinly over the fabrics and doesn’t foam up very much. This is great because we found that it doesn’t make the fabric sopping wet.

We agitated the area with an Upholstery Brush; you can see that after being disturbed, the product isn’t particularly visible on the fabric, but the liquid caught on the brush has lifted dirt from the fibres and left the foam slightly discoloured. Wipe the excess off the brush and continue agitating until you’re happy the grime has been lifted from the fabric.

At this point, all that’s left is to leave it to dry. We used the Multi-Purpose Microfibre Cloths to help that process along a little. We dabbed the areas we’d cleaned to help draw out any remaining liquid.

n the pictures below, you can see how effective these cleans were. Dirt was lifted and stains were removed. We were incredibly happy with how effective this alternative method is, and we’d love to hear what you think about it.
